What was the controversial decision?[edit]

The article currently only says that this was in protest of a "controversial decision". Could a knowledgeable editor explain in the article what this was, in detail? Comet Tuttle (talk) 19:10, 6 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've expanded it with info from this subsequent article - which explains it as a pre-arranged protest against decisions in earlier matches in a round-robin tournament. Ghmyrtle (talk) 10:19, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Excellent, thank you. If any further detail is available about what exactly the disputed penalty was in the previous match, that would be helpful. Comet Tuttle (talk) 18:42, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Of more importance imho, who[edit]

exactly “scored“ the “goals“? I can't find that info anywhere.

Does anybody know? 82.113.106.42 (talk) 16:35, 9 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

No-one did. You can't score 149 own goals in 90 minutes. That's one every 36 seconds. It's a fairytale. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A00:23C7:6393:B201:79D7:C506:33D:2BC8 (talk) 00:12, 18 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Fake[edit]

An own goal every 36 seconds for 90 minutes? Clearly made up for publicity. Show me video evidence or it's another example of this crappy project repeating nonsense. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A00:23C7:6393:B201:79D7:C506:33D:2BC8 (talk) 00:11, 18 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

How did they score 149 goals in 90mins? 91.186.243.100 (talk) 13:19, 30 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Here is the Reuters report cited in the article: "SOE's coach Ratsimandresy Ratsarazaka orchestrated the protest from the stands as the Antananarivo-based side began repeatedly firing shots into their own net from the opening whistle.... Adema's players reportedly stood around looking bemused, doing nothing to stop the opposition from self-destructing.." Ghmyrtle (talk) 14:18, 30 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
