Title capitalization

[edit]

This page has been moved a couple times now to titles of alternate capitalizations. Per WP:ALBUMCAPS, prepositions such as "in" and articles such as "the" are to be lower case in album titles. The correct capitalization of the article is "A Shipwreck in the Sand". Fezmar9 (talk) 00:13, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Whatever. In a month, probably someone will move it again. Sigh.--Wehwalt (talk) 00:53, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Emo genre should be added

[edit]

"Emo" genre should be added. This is not just "Post-hardcore" album. It is "Post-hardcore" and "Emo" album, just like previous three albums. So i'm going to add Emo. Musicmovies2024 (talk) 03:42, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Genres must come from WP:SECONDARY sources. See WP:EXPLICITGENRE. We don't just decide that a genre should be listed because of related stuff. Binksternet (talk) 23:00, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
By this logic "Post-hardcore" shouldn't be there either, because there's no actual source listed on it. But it's a common knowledge, that this album is Post-hardcore and emo. Musicmovies2024 (talk) 00:31, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So apparently you are audio engineer and that's very cool by the way. But even more now, i'm kind of shocked that you don't understand that this album belongs very clearly under both "Post-Hardcore" and "Emo" genre. As an audio engineer, i would expect you to understand it right away. Most musicians, that i have spoken with, completely agree that this album is indeed both Post-hardcore AND Emo. It was never only "Post-hardcore", this doesn't even make sense. Silverstein has said endlessly in interviews that they are making Post-hardcore AND Emo music. But it's whatever, if keeping it only "Post-hardcore" makes you happy, good for you. I don't personally care, i just wanted to add correct information, but apparently that's not possible. Every Silverstein fan (and also Silverstein themselves) knows that this album is both "Post-hardcore" AND "Emo" (just like their three previous albums by the way), so yeah, it doesn't really matter what it says on this Wikipedia page. It's objectively false. No wonder most musicians go to Rate Your Music or Discogs instead, if they want CORRECT information. Musicmovies2024 (talk) 01:36, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The intention of Wikipedia is that all information presented here is a summary of stuff that is published. Everything must be WP:Verifiable in reliable published sources. If you wish to add the emo genre, you would want to find that genre in published sources talking about the album. Binksternet (talk) 01:45, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Here's album overview by Todd Sterling. He mentions emo genre multiple times. https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/a-shipwreck-in-the-sand-silverstein/16822524 Musicmovies2024 (talk) 15:43, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
