Reason for article (response to speedy deletion mark)

I added this article because the singer was obviously famous enough for me to encounter one of his albums in the Middle East when on holiday (which I bought). I noticed that there is an article of him on the Arabic version so assumed it was good enough for English Wikipaedia as well.

I have found sources for this page, mainly dealing with his discography. I have also translated some sections from the Arabic version. I've added another source for his discography in case the first was deemed unreliable.

If this article is approved for deletion, I just hope it isn't because this singer is just well known in the Arabic-speaking world. Mjb1981 (talk) 12:01, 30 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because the singer was obviously famous enough for me to encounter one of his albums in Egypt when on holiday. As the singer is Saudi, this already indicates international notoriety. I noticed that there is an article of him on the Arabic version so assumed it was good enough for English Wikipaedia as well. That is why I added the article all those years ago.

When this article was nominated for speedy deletion before, I added further sources and the decision was not to delete. I don't see what has changed since then.

If this article is approved for deletion, I just hope it isn't because this singer is only well known in the Arabic-speaking world.
