Editing and Best Picture Oscars

[edit]

The article needs some discussion of the category's predictor of the Best Picture award. (I.e. the winner of the Editing award often wins Best Picture, and the winner of Best Picture is almost always at least nominated for Best Editing). --Cinematical (talk) 23:01, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Academy Award for "Film Editing" or for "Best Film Editing"

[edit]

Mr Hall of England moved this article from the title "Academy Award for Film Editing" to "Academy Award for Best Film Editing". I think that changes this important should be discussed on talk pages before making them. To the best of my knowledge, the proposed title has never been used by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, so I'm not sure why the title should have been changed. Please enlighten me! Superlatives

[edit]

With Michael Kahn's remarkable 8th nomination, the superlatives section is now out-of-date, and I think it needs redesign. Here is one proposal: the top two levels for nominations and wins should be listed in this section. So Kahn would be shown with 8 nominations, and McLean, Reynolds, and Schoonmaker with 7 nominations. Wins would be done similarly, probably showing editors with 3 and with 2 wins. Please comment if this interests you. Easchiff (talk) 06:58, 11 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Multiple nomination section?

[edit]

Was just thinking of this like how this is in some other cats-would anyone like to start this? Wgolf (talk) 20:20, 10 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
