How accurate is where he is born?

[edit]

I dont know persian but i tried to read the source with Google translate. But i couldnt see anything about where he is born. Is it possible for someone who knows Persian to confirm?

This part:

Ahmad Massoud was born on 10 July 1989 in Piyu in the province of Takhar in North-East Afghanistan.[1] Cahilipedya (talk) 18:05, 17 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, thanks for pointing that out. I know Persian, I read that page and nothing is mentioned there about where he is born. The Ocean (talk) 18:28, 19 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Foundation

[edit]

Does someone know more about the foundation? The sentence about his CEO nomination in - 2016 - points to reference[2] from 2014 ??

He should probably be refered to as "commander" or warlord rather than a CEO given his involvement with the ANA in Panjshir. However, his military status is unclear. His "years active : 2009-Present" seems unreliable too with the 2016 date and his studies in the UK (which isn't exactly "active life"). I think the "Foundation" is this nonprofit (https://massoudfoundation.com/). The 2016 date is confirmed in the "Board of Directors" page. Need secondary sourcing for this tho. Ahmad

[edit]

Multiple reports have emerged that he has pledged to the group. Can anyone confirm? Abedagoat12 (talk) 13:17, 21 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

For stating that on a wikipedia article you will need very, very, very good reliable sources. I think for now it's only rumors due to peace tractations between the second resistance and the Talibans, or pure Taliban PR. For now, if you can't confirm something is absolutely true, it has probably nothing to do here. Larrayal (talk) 13:22, 21 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The U.S. intelligence report claiming that Massoud fled the Afghanistan is very questionable

[edit]

The Biden Administration has currently been trying to establish ties with the Taliban, which cast more doubt on its accuracy. It was also previously reported that acting Islamic Republic of Afghanistan President Amrullah Saleh fled Afghanistan as well, which was denied by the Afghanistan Ambassador to that country.137.70.164.141 (talk) 00:09, 23 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
