Create article on he.wikipedia first?
[edit]Number of issues. Spelling. Lack of English sources. Use of 5735 for year 1974 etc. Also this article appears to serve only to populate the oddly named category:Kohanim authors of Rabbinic literature. It might meet WP:Notability if there were more Hebrew language sources, but seems to be only one - and I suspect a lot of en.wikipedia users will have difficulty identifying the sole source given:
- source as given: "Encyclopedia letoldoth chachmei yisroel, vol. 1 p. 95 (jerusalem 5735 HC)"
- changed to read: אנציקלופדיה לתולדות חכמי ארץ־ישראל , Encylopedia of the Sages of the Land of Israel Mossad Harav Kook, Jerusalem, 1974 author יעקב גליס Yaakov Gliss.
Here's a hopefully helpful suggestion: Maybe write the article on he.wikipedia first, using actual citations from p95 of above? Or paste the relevant content from p.95 here? In ictu oculi (talk) 06:20, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
- Seems nothing happening and no interest visible to improve this from other editors. Which is a shame. If there is notable content here then let's produce it. In ictu oculi (talk) 10:34, 16 April 2012 (UTC)
- it is אנציקלופדיה לתולדות חכמי ארץ־ישראל , Encylopedia of the Sages of the Land of Israel Mossad Harav Kook, Jerusalem, 1974 author יעקב גליס Yaakov Gliss. The page is about a known (to dikduk delvers) early source of dikduk nuance, i'd contribute a bit more to save it from deletion if neccessary. in any case the page does need more information, i agree, but it should not be deleted. 18:23, 16 April 2012 Marecheth Ho'eElohuth (talk | contribs) . .
Can you please reproduce the paragraph in Hebrew that mentions this individual? Or at least give the name in Hebrew? In ictu oculi (talk) 23:34, 16 April 2012 (UTC)
- for what purpose?--Marecheth Ho'eElohuth (talk) 19:17, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
- Well, so we can establish that there actually is a source, and what the name of the individual is. It's difficult to tell from the romanization you have employed what the real name is. Is it "אחיהו הכהן" ? Or is this the same name אחיה as in Ahijah the Shilonite? In ictu oculi (talk) 06:39, 19 April 2012 (UTC)
- I have added in source per assumption that it is first name above. In ictu oculi (talk) 01:29, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

reason for deletion
[edit]I fail to see why this article should be deleted, am I permitted to remove the deletion nomination?--Marecheth Ho'eElohuth (talk) 19:17, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
- Why not improve the article? In ictu oculi (talk) 06:39, 19 April 2012 (UTC)
- you may not remove the deletion template. You should seek wikipedia's guidelines on biographies to improve it to the point where it is worthy of keeping--RichardMills65 (talk) 01:27, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
