Open Source?

[edit]

Is the source code for the system available anywhere? From a quick search it seems that: no. It's based on some Open Source components, but this does not make it Open Source. Tzafrir (talk) 05:53, 14 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

As I've seen no place to download the source code from, and see no evidence for it to be available, I removed that label. Being based on Linux and/or Android does no make it Open Source. If you re-add it, please add a reasonable evidence for Aliyun OS to be Open Source (and yes, I know this does not mean exactly "source code available for download"). Have you checked in Chinese? Did search on Baidu as well? I have removed the last passage. Expressions like "does not seem" belongs to the Talk page, not to the official article.--I am the warchief (talk) 17:34, 24 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Android Runtime?

[edit]

According to Andy Rubin, the Senior Vice President of Mobile and Digital Content at Google who oversees Android development, "the Aliyun OS incorporates the Android runtime and was apparently derived from Android."[1][2] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.241.172.33 (talk) 15:15, 15 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"Apparently" doesn't imply it is fact. Just "as far as" Andy Rubin knows. To use that as a citation for this article seems a bit much. Maybe saying that it allegedly uses the runtime or a derivation of it, but an Alibaba executive has stated otherwise? Yincrash (talk) 15:43, 15 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There is no proof it does! Honestly, do you think they are stupid enough to introduce such a "feature", should it ever be introduced in the West? My Lenovo Laptop certainly does not explode... --I am the warchief (talk) 17:30, 24 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Alios is a soil type.

[edit]

Alios has long been known as a type of soil found in certain areas of France. This page’s name on this chinese operating system should be changed.
