Hi all, thanks for the effort in creating this new article. Unfortunately, I have tagged it with some issues including that there is a statement that says he is notable for his work, with only his work being cited. Just because someone has published multiple papers does not mean that they are notable. You can read about Wikipedia's natality guidelines at WP:GNG and specifically WP:NPROF (which covers academic notability). In general, we need enough "independent" and "reliable" sources to build the article with, and Neitzke just doesn't have significant coverage. Given that there is no indication that it passes either notability criteria (and I looked over his CV and there is no indication of his notability there either), the article is subject to being nominated for deletion. It is unfortunate the article was accepted by AfC before any of this was verified. All contributions are appreciated, though, so please do not let any of this discourage you! As per WP:NACADEMICAcademics meeting any one of the following conditions, as substantiated through reliable sources, are notable. Here the person seems to qualify point no 3 i.e. The person has been elected a fellow of a major scholarly society which reserves fellow status as a highly selective honor(He is a fellow of American Mathematical Society). The person passes specific criteria notes i.e To count towards satisfying Criterion 1, citations need to occur in peer-reviewed scholarly publications such as journals or academic books.. Hi! I apologize for not addressing that caveat in advance, as it would be the first thing you see. As far as I know, AMS and APS and societies like that are not "highly selective" and do not count, as can be seen by the fact that most of their fellows don't have articles here. Also, you did not attempt to address the original research and so removing that template was wrong, therefore I have removed the offending statement rather than append any new banner, it should have never been allowed through AfC. In general, please do not remove banners before either fixing the problem or getting consensus to do so. Further note, because the notability is disputed, you should discuss here and get consensus before removing the templates, though I will hold off on adding it back. I'm happy to look more into this or open a request for comment so we can get others editor's opinion's on whether AMS counts as selective enough, but even then, the lack of coverage generally supersedes it; notability is a guide, a bar to pass because, typically, when an article passes notability, there is generally sufficient coverage to build an article. Hi! I'm the original drafter. The impetus for the creation of the page was that Neitzke is named by multiple articles but has no page yet. See M-Theory, Hitchin Functional, Topological String Theory, Spectral Network, 6D (2,0) superconformal field theory, and Generalized Complex Structure. He also has an NLab page if that counts as independent coverage.
