Review comment[edit]

Hi auntieruth55. This article is a welcome addition. I made no assessment because there are two issues that come to my eye. (1) Some dates are dmy and others are mdy. Since it's about a European event my preference is dmy, but the article needs to be consistent. (2) It seems to me that the chronological placement (April 1796) of the following statement is incorrect. "His connection to Pichegru's treason also made him suspect." Though the man was suspected by some, hard evidence of Pichegru's treason did not come to light until April 1797 (see Phipps vol. 2, p. 431). Djmaschek (talk) 01:00, 7 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thanks for making the changes that I suggested. I'm assessing this as C class because this article is very short. (Courcelles is quite an interesting source! Montaigu appears to have fought at the Battle of Erquelinnes on 24 May 1794, which is hard to find material for.) If you think I'm being unfair or not following the guidelines, we can discuss. Or you can seek another reviewer. Djmaschek (talk) 02:17, 12 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Yes, Courcelles is interesting. Not always correct, as you've noted. There is very little on Montaigu, and this represents the bulk of it, unless it's in a language other than French, German or English. auntieruth (talk) 17:16, 12 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
