I'm a bit confused. Does the skull really weight 500-600kg? Or does the whole animal? Meridas (talk) 11:33, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Confusion Reigns[edit]

This whole line is confusing: "The most notable characteristic of the Anteosaurus is its tall and narrow skull, which weighs approximately 500-600 kg, is 80cm long, and around 5-6 m in length." It's not saying what the author wants to say (or someone has played with the article). The author probably wants to say something to the effect, "Anteosaurus weighs approximately 500-600 kg and is around 5-6 m in length. Its most notable characteristic is its tall, narrow skull, which is 80 cm long."

apex predators?[edit]

These guys were apex predators, right? Like crocodiles. Also, the apex predators of the Permian were all synapsids, right? Gorgonopsians, pelycosaurs, anteosaurs... Jonathan Tweet (talk) 22:05, 17 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
