Archelosauria should be nested within Archosauromorpha, not the other way. Archosauromorpha is defined (Dilkes, 1998) as Protorosaurus > Lepidosauria roughly, which makes it more inclusive than Archelosauria. Archelosauria is a node-based clade (Archosauria + Testudines) with an excluder of lepidosaurs to be self-destructing definition if turtles are closer to lepidosaurs. 157.182.165.19 (talk) 14:47, 6 May 2024 (UTC)
- Archosauromorpha has been defined in multiple ways, but these definitions were not intended to include turtles. Back in the 90s, many palaeontologists simply didn't consider the possibility that turtles might be diapsids. —Trilletrollet [ Talk | Contribs ] 15:25, 6 May 2024 (UTC)
- Unless a phylogenetic definition specifically mentions a taxon (or taxa) for exclusion, that is irrelevant. 157.182.165.19 (talk) 15:29, 6 May 2024 (UTC)
