My guess is that all these sites were added seperately because the area was developed into a subdivision about this time, and the developer did not want it to all be a "historic district". Is this usual? Will do some more research. W Nowicki (talk) 22:16, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
Battle(s)
[edit]I never heard of the battle that Kamehameha fought on Kawela, it might be the one in which he capture Kaloa and Keopuolani on Molokai. But why doesn't this article mention about the earlier battle at Kawela between King Kapiohookalani of Oahu and King Alapainui of Hawaii? I did a google search on Battle of Kawela and this first battle seems as notable. .--KAVEBEAR (talk)
- Yes of course, I was just about to add that when I ran into the trouble of how to spell the person's name, as you noticed. I think that (circa 1837?) battle was the reason for many of the sites. The Kamehameha incident I think was just the capture, but that is notable too, resulting in the mother of future kings, etc. Also noted that there is no Kawela, Hawaii article yet? Maybe reidrect that here for now, since we have the hatnote. Hope to have time to work on this today. W Nowicki (talk) 17:16, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
