By-laws
[edit]What's the difference between by-laws, articles of association, articles of organization and articles of incorporation? Is by-laws the more general term, since the latter three seem to refer to enterprises only and by-laws to all kinds of organizations? If the only difference is that each jurisdiction uses its own terms, wouldn't it be better to have one article about the subject? Bever (talk) 22:23, 12 March 2018 (UTC)
Merger Proposal
[edit]Hey y'all; I'm proposing to merge articles of incorporation into this page (which I believe Otr500 proposed in 2012 on the articles of incorporation talk page) considering the former is a stub covering (to my knowledge) the exact same topic as this article. I would go ahead and do it, but it appears that Miboyl is doing a course assignment on the articles of incorporation article. @Miboyl, Otr500, and Bever: Would the merger of articles of incorporation and articles of association cause any issues with your assignment? If there's no discussion within a week, I'll go ahead and do the merger. – Theologus (talk) 20:26, 22 November 2020 (UTC)
- This article states:
...a company's articles of association (AoA, called articles of incorporation in some jurisdictions)
is a clear indication that a merge could be beneficial. If two articles are so closely associated and especially lower classed, with minor differences that may be just jurisdictional, it would make sense that they be covered in one article, that can be split should size become an issue, but overall would create a more complete and better classed article. If there are no objections this would be an uncontroversial merge and I think it would pass a merge request anyway. Otr500 (talk) 04:05, 23 November 2020 (UTC)- Merger complete.
