Notability
[edit]It might be a close call, but Asa Hartshorne seems to be notable enough for his own article per WP:Bio. He's mentioned multiple times in accounts of the Northwest Indian War or the battle of Fort Recovery, and gets passing mentions in other events of the war. Info about him exceeds WP:Passing mention, i.e. "more than a trivial mention but it need not be the main topic of the source material." I would be happier if I knew of a brief biographical sketch of him, even a few sentences in a footnote, but I haven't seen that yet. I suspect it's out there though and will be uncovered. - I'm on the fence, and I created the article. I do agree that this article will likely expand, as Wikipedia articles tend to do. If there's a case to be made for notability, I would base it on the fact that there's a battle/skirmish that bears his name in multiple sources. The Kentucky history folks should chime in on that one. Hartshorn(e) is also a notable person of interest in two significant battles that shaped the young United States. I've seen Wikipedia articles written about less notable people, but I'm willing to consider the case against notability, if someone wants to make it. Canute (talk) 13:44, 15 December 2021 (UTC)
- He was also among the signers of two Indian treaties. Taterian (talk) 00:53, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
