The translation of ABIC into english is not very easy. A "Bolseiro" benefits from a "bolsa", which can be translated, for instance, as "scholarship", "grant" or "stipend". I'm not sure which term is best. It is equivalent to "Beca" in Spanish and "Bourse" in French. Is there a non-compound noun in english to designate these researchers? In Portugal, "Bolseiros" include a variety of science researchers and technicians that earn these stipends.

It could be translated as "grantee" or as "grantholder".Jpeaton (talk) 14:06, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Language

[edit]

Apparently this page actually replaces the English version of the the ABIC page, although it claims that "...young Portuguese read and write English fluently.", and that there are many foreigners holding grants in Portugal, the ABIC cannot create an English version of their page. So, I fixed the grammar. The language is still a bit strange, though. Jpeaton (talk) 14:04, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
