Proposed changes to Saudi Arabia

[edit]

this BBC article titled "Saudi princess: What I'd change about my country" looks like it might be a good source with which to expand this article. EdwardLane (talk) 12:23, 12 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Personal details

[edit]

Should we disclose the city where she has been living or we should mention only country? It may be against personal rights. Egeymi (talk) 21:39, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

In general we disclose only material verified in reliable sources. We do not reveal private details. Fiddle Faddle (talk) 21:41, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
As the starter of the page I agree with you. But there can be some negative consequences we cannot think about. Egeymi (talk) 21:44, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The thing is, the lady is in the public eye. If her data appears in a reliable source we may enter it here. It is, after all, already in the wild. We may choose not to do so if we wish. No-one suggests that adding data is mandatory. Fiddle Faddle (talk) 21:51, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I am confused, since it included incorrect statements by her that were put, unfortunately, on 9 April 2012 by an IP editor and noone could recognise it. You may check out it, Egeymi (talk) 22:21, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Anything not confirmed in reliable sources should be purged from the article. Fiddle Faddle (talk) 08:25, 24 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Passport edit

If you look at edit history, you will see that I did not add it. Egeymi (talk) 11:28, 24 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

An editor professing to be her PR team keeps editing here

[edit]

I have flagged that editor as a {{Connected contributor}} above, and have, so far, reverted edits on the basis that they remove cited material and add no new material. They appear to wish to enforce an official version.

There is no inherent problem with adding official items, but they must be sourced in reliable sources, not at the whim of a self identifying PR person. Equally that person needs to be aware of the guidelines on conflict of interest (flagged on their talk page).

Recognising that there are areas which might endanger lives, there is a process of redaction available to endangered parties or those acting in their behalf. lease see Wikipedia:Revision deletion for further information. Fiddle Faddle (talk) 11:47, 24 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

removal

[edit]

I just removed this text from the article:

In 2009, she become the president of Art of Heritage, an organization employing over 100 women who craft fashionable traditional dress.[1] In 2016, Art of Heritage dressed the female members of the Saudi delegation for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.[2]

This concerns imho another person, HRH Princess Basma bint Majid bin Abdul-Aziz AlSaud, married with HRH Prince Bandar Al Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. This is another person with the same first name, also a princess. If you are convinced I am wrong, please revert my edit, no problem. Ellywa (talk) 23:58, 9 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much Ellywa, you are right. --Egeymi (talk) 13:02, 10 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
