I have some issues with the chosen photographs representing Batemans Bay. For one, the 2nd photo is a picture of Broulee Beach. And do we really need a image of the Stockland Logo to represent the Bay? I think we can do a lot better than that. 123.100.34.113 11:52, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Population?

[edit]

The population of 19,200 specified by 202.77.94.121 (talk) doesn't agree with any data for Bateman's Bay that I can find. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, at the according 2006 Census (held on 8th August 2006), there were 10,845 persons usually resident in Batemans Bay urban centre or locality (i.e. including Calalina, Batehaven, Surfside, etc) [1]. For the suburb of Batemans Bay itself, the population is 1,670 [2]. -- 198.135.207.129 06:59, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

More sections needed?

[edit]

There is a lot of information included under the "History" heading. This page should be fruther organised into subjects such as History, Commerce, Sport etc. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Andoru (talkcontribs) 23:18, 22 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Batemans Bay is administered by … the NSW Aboriginal Land Council.

[edit]

I've removed this claim from the lede. For one thing, it is unsourced and for another, it is unbelievable. Batemans Bay is administered by the Eurobodalla Shire council, and that's plain enough. No other bodies are sovereign except the ascending levels of government of state and commonwealth above the local shire. --Pete (talk) 06:40, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This claim is correct. Aboriginal Land Councils are an independent body of the NSW State Government who are legislated with the authority to administer Aboriginal/crown lands in matters such as, but not exclusively, the management of crown land claims, and mineral exploration. This includes the LALC of Batemans Bay. The Eurobodalla Shire Council work closely with the Batemans Bay Local Aboriginal Land Council. GadigalGuy (talk) 15:04, 21 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, but they don't administer the whole lot, do they? This is like saying that Batemans Bay is administed by the local fire brigade, ambulance service, main roads and so on. Specialist areas, but hardly justifying the WP:UNDUE prominence you claim. Get consensus for this, please. --Pete (talk) 22:10, 21 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
