Notability
[edit]Batterson Park is notable for being a remnant of the larger Town of Hartford, that subsequently split into a half-dozen smaller towns, including Farmington and West Hartford. Despite being located outside the contemporary city limits, it continues to be owned by the City of Hartford. The city was once a municipal body within the Town of Hartford, before consolidating with the town following the various splits. Batterson Park also preserves part of the history of civil engineering in the region, being home to the original Reservoir 4 for the municipal water system. Proposed Plan to transfer Park to the State.
[edit]I've added a modification to the $10,000,000 renovations originally scheduled for 2023, now 2025 as well as the proposed plan to transfer the park to the state. I saw the news on WTNH but used a citation from today's Hartford Courant article. Morrowlong (talk) 22:38, 23 March 2023 (UTC)
