When did this battle occur?
[edit]From other links I'd suggest 27th July 1643. Is this correct? 124.184.92.64 05:06, 13 June 2007 (UTC)Jim Jacobs
- I don't know about the date, but I was under the impression that the the final stage of the battle was closer to Lea marsh than to Foxby Hill. [Pete Spindley] —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.35.131.23 (talk) 13:54, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
Who won?
[edit]The lead: A short-lived attempt to capture it for Parliament was defeated by Charles Cavendish.
The box: Parliamentarians victory. Creuzbourg (talk) 18:42, 21 July 2020 (UTC)
Battle
[edit]"Seeing this, Cromwell, Major Whalley and three troops of Royalist horse attacked Cavendish and his reserve from the rear." This doen't make sense as it stands. Surely "Royalist horse" should read "Parliamentary horse". If anyone can confirm, please make the change or conform here and I will. Mike Spathaky (talk) 18:57, 28 August 2020 (UTC)
- My error. I rewrote a portion of the paragraph a while back and indeed I made the mistake. Good catch! I will change it right now. Thanks! Virgil Fairchild VFF0347 (talk) 22:06, 28 August 2020 (UTC)
