Added new material[edit]

I’ve added some new material from a perfumery perspective. It would be useful to have something here from a wider cosmetics perspective but that’s outside my area of expertise - anyone?

Also I notice that the reference concerning the use of this material as a fixative and in floral perfumes (which is accurate information as far as it goes) no-longer works and needs to be updated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chris J M Bartlett (talkcontribs) 13:28, 5 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I’ve now replaced that dead reference with one to an appropriate source book and adjusted the text to be consistent with the source. Chris J M Bartlett (talk) 12:31, 21 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Following a discussion on Basenotes on the subject I discovered that the odour description on The Good Scents Company page wasn't really accurate (most unusual as it's generally a very reliable source). As a result I've looked up the most definitive source I could, found a better description and updated with that. --Chris J M Bartlett (talk) 16:07, 15 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
