Zulu wars

[edit]

while researching this page I came across some entries that Lieutenant A B Milne RN was involved with the zulu wars, the events of Isandlwana and Rorke's Drift. I saw a discussion about whether this was the same man, and someone confirming that it was. for info on milne see eg [1] Sandpiper (talk) 00:27, 2 July 2008 (UTC) or Lieutenant Berkeley Milne RN, a naval officer attached to Chelmsford’s staff, had a powerful telescope, so he sent him to a nearby knoll from which Isandhlwana was visible. Milne climbed a tree and studied the camp, some twelve miles to the northwest for some time. The tents were little more that a white blur and no figures could be distinguished. He reported back that apart from oxen being moved nearer the camp, everything else appeared normal. Note, there was also a seargent milne at rorkes drift. Sandpiper (talk)[reply]
