I fixed the name according to the Bibliothèque nationale de France's usage. His family name was La Ville-sur-Illon; that's different from his noble title of comte de Lacépède.Lacépède and La Cépède are more-or-less interchangeable, but the normal English usage and the preferred usage of the BNF (La Cépède is a forme rejetée) are to write it as one word. (Google test: ca. 300k for Lacépède, ca. 50k for La Cépède; since more common agrees with BNF's authority, that should be used.) Note also that the family name can also appear as Laville-sur-Illon according to some authorities. Note also that he will never be de Lacépède — Monsieur le comte de Lacépède but if not using the full title just Lacépède.Tkinias22:20, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
So, why is he called "La Cépède". I could find nowhere "La Cépède" alone, only sometimes "Monsieur de la Cépède", please add the source for "La Cépède"
