Who has written entry on Byansis?
[edit]I read the section on Byansis as separate entity among Uttarakhand Bhotiya. I would like to interact with the the author of this section as in current form it treats a geographical branch of community separately and has no information on larger ethnic group of Rung community.
I belong to this community and represent an organization called Rung Kalyan Sanstha. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.241.219.30 (talk) 05:50, 24 January 2013 (UTC)
Page move
[edit]@HemmyHighlander: I think that you may need to review WP:COMMONNAME and WP:RM. For example, this move of yours - Uttarakhand Bhotiya to Uttarakhandi Bhotiya - was initially unexplained. When I reverted you, the move was repeated but you provided an explanation (good). The problem is that your explanation is not necessarily correct within the context of Wikipedia. It may well be true that people from Uttarakhand can be referred to as Uttarakhandis but that is not the same as saying the "Uttarakhandi Bhotiya" is the more common usage. Have you actually done that check?
I've just checked using Google. Now, Google will inevitably return a lot of mirrors for any article that has been around for a while. Nonetheless, there is at present only one hit for Uttarakhandi Bhotiya (this newly-named article itself) and there are nearly 5,000 for the old title, of which at least some are definitely not mirrors. - Sitush (talk) 08:56, 14 August 2014 (UTC)
New content
[edit]RajulaMalushahi, Welcome to Wikipedia. Unfortunately, I had to revert your newly added content because it is not neutral and not encyclopaedic.
- Please do not modify the existing content even if you believe it to be "wrong". If it is reliably sourced, you need to follow WP:NPOV and discuss the issues here first.
- Please provide WP:Full citations.
- Please write short summaries for the new content, one at a time so that they can be verified and revised as necessary.
You are welcome to dicuss here whatever issues bother you and obtain WP:CONSENSUS for changes. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 11:59, 6 July 2021 (UTC)
Hello,
The information provided on the old Wikipedia page before I made the corrections is incorrect and biased. It is based on literature that misrepresents a marginalized community's history and past. I belong to the said tribe and have myself done personal research on this topic. I've also provided resources from the books that I've referred to.
As a member of the indigenous community about whom this article is written, I feel I have the right to correct this wrong.
Please refer to the book 'Prehistory of Shauka Regime' by Surendra Singh Pangtey to understand this community better. Happy to discuss with you what particular issues you have with the write up I've provided. RajulaMalushahi (talk) 12:30, 6 July 2021 (UTC)
Also, please detail what did you mean by the content not being 'neutral'. Thanks RajulaMalushahi (talk) 12:31, 6 July 2021 (UTC)
- Wikipedia's idea of "neutral" is defined on the WP:NPOV policy page. It is a fundamental pillar and a "non-negotiable" policy.
- You can start by listing the sources you have used and provide WP:Full citations, so that we can assess whether they are reliable. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 12:42, 6 July 2021 (UTC)
