Ok so maybe I am being dumb but I fail to see much difference between biscuit tin and cookie jar except they are called two different things. I know plenty of UK biscuit tins that are round. Or am I calling them the wrong thing? Please discuss! Cls14 17:27, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Umm..... have you actually seen a biscuit tin ? The vast majority are metal (tin-plate), rectangular, decorated with transfers etc. etc. And cookie jars tend to be round (well cylindrical actually) glass (or plastic), often transparent with a metal (or sometimes plastic or wooden lid) - how close to being the same is that ? Lol. There are examples of what I call biscuit tins owned by many of my family members that are cylindrical. Biscuit tins biscuits are SOLD in are almost always sqaure but not always the ones they are STORED in. Cls14 12:07, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think this should probably be linked but they are distinct items with distinct histories; I have now edited the 'biscuit-tin' article, but will leave the linking of these 2 items to you others.
