Some questionable statements. There are at least two American Jewelers who have been in operation longer than Black, Starr & Frost. The oldest American Jeweler is actually Bixler's, founded in 1785. https://www.jckonline.com/magazine-article/americas-10-oldest-jewelers-bixlers-jewelers/ https://bixlers1785.com/pages/why-bixlers https://money.cnn.com/gallery/smallbusiness/2013/12/13/oldest-businesses-america/4.html Elsewhere in Wikipedia land, it seems whoever Black, Starr & Frost is asking to handle their marketing on wikipedia missed this gem: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_oldest_companies_in_the_United_States Notice, Bixler's and Shreve, Crump & Low are both listed before Black, Starr & Frost. This type of marketing mumbjo jumbo is misleading and confusing to users.

Following Bixler's, the next oldest American Jeweler is Shreve, Crump & Low, founded in 1796. https://www.jckonline.com/magazine-article/americas-10-oldest-jewelers-shreve-crump-low/ The statement being made is Black, Starr & Frost is the oldest continuously running business, however, that is debatable. Shreve, Crump & Low suffered a building fire, and continued administrative operations while they rebuilt, but this should not classify as a stoppage of operations. If that is considered a stop of operations, then every American Jeweler just stopped operations in the month of April, leveling the playing field. Shreve, Crump & Low filed for bankruptcy however that does not mean operations ceased, especially as they continued negotiations to sell their business. This being said, the statement that Black, Starr & Frost is the oldest continuously operating American Jeweler is too dubious to be stated as fact, and should be removed. JCK, the links used to support this claim, actually do not make this statement, and recognize there are older American Jewelers.

Then, there is the claim to be America's oldest watchmaker. I am not the first to note this, but this article seems to be written by people who are paid by Black, Starr & Frost or one of their affiliates.
