Unrealistic pose

[edit]

Has there been an critique about the pose? It's very disjointed. It seems as if his head is on backwards There is no way his right ear should be visible. --209.203.125.162 (talk) 23:55, 10 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Commissioned by Bonaparte?

[edit]

According to Michael Rowe, After the Revolution: Antoine-Jean Gros, Painting and Propaganda under Napoleon Bonaparte at the Pont d'Arcole was commissioned by Napoleon Bonaparte "[...] when he ingratiated himself with Napoleon, who commissioned him to paint Bonaparte au pont d'Arcole (1796).". I am however not able to find any citations. Is this suitable for integration into the page? Velvetmourn (talk) 10:52, 13 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
