Okay I'll take a look, make straightforward copyedits as I go and jot notes below....Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 13:38, 11 April 2022 (UTC)
Avoid 1-2 sentence choppy paras - merge or expand.
Brandon Sanderson was born on December 19, 1975, in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was the eldest of four children.- these sentences a little on the short side, flow more naturally if, "The eldest of four children, Brandon Sanderson was born on December 19, 1975, in Lincoln, Nebraska."
- Was Mistborn: The Final Empire a new book or one of the 12 written before?
Any more info on why Sanderson was chosen to finish WoT books? Possibly one of the most notable things to happen to him so any more would be good and germane to the articleSorry, missed the Mistborn explanation here. Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 04:56, 14 April 2022 (UTC)
- Also, reception to his authorship of last 3 books as a whole
- The After the Wheel of Time section is a bit "and then, and then.." - maybe adding some bits on things that were well-received etc.?
Work on the above items
[edit]Collecting my comments and notes on working on the above-mentioned items:
- There's only one two-sentence paragraph now (the one about his marriage and kids), and I think it works fine as it is. The other one has been expanded to be more sentences.
- Fixed the first two sentences in the bio section by merging them.
- Don't know about Mistborn being one of the 12 previously-written novels or not. I don't think so, but I don't have any refs for that.
- I'll see if I can find more details on why Sanderson was chosen for WoT.
- I'll work on adding more reception for his more recent works.
- Yeah, I'm not a fan with how the bio section has been divided up, but I'm not sure how to change that. I'll think on it.
- I think you could get rid of the "Life and Career" section and make the sub-sections tier 2 section headers. You could organize the "works section" (which is called Wheel of Time right now) into sections by date, or by genre of publications, or by audience. I like to divide his works into epic fantasy, YA, and "misc" ("other work") in my head. My unsolicited opinion, heh. Rachel Helps (BYU) (talk) 18:59, 13 April 2022 (UTC)
I'll add more as Casliber works on things. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 16:57, 13 April 2022 (UTC)
- I'm not finding anything about whether Mistborn is one of the 12 novels or not. I believe I remember something from a while back where he said he had an early version of a novel that was completely redone (so it wasn't really the same novel) into one of his published novels, but I can't find it. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 16:41, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
Okay - am presuming then that pretty much anything online of significance is in article. In which case...
1. Well written?:
- Prose quality:
- Manual of Style compliance:
2. Factually accurate and verifiable?:
- References to sources:
- Citations to reliable sources, where required:
- No original research:
3. Broad in coverage?:
- Major aspects:
- Focused:
4. Reflects a neutral point of view?:
- Fair representation without bias:
5. Reasonably stable?
- No edit wars, etc. (Vandalism does not count against GA):
6. Illustrated by images, when possible and appropriate?:
- Images are copyright tagged, and non-free images have fair use rationales:
- Images are provided where possible and appropriate, with suitable captions:
Overall:
- Pass or Fail: looks pretty good overall - if we don't have sources then what we got is what we got. Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 02:08, 19 April 2022 (UTC)
