How long did they last?
[edit]I've been trying to find out for ages when the last BR (or Civic Restaurant) closed, but none of the sources I've found say. Please add this info! 86.136.251.177 (talk) 10:08, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
I certainly ate in one with my father many times in the early 1950's (Stoke on Trent) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.142.213.126 (talk) 06:24, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
- There was definitely some sort of state cafeteria chain operating into the 60s. I remember eating in one with my mother, and I was born in 1955 (this was also in Stoke, as it happens). I'm sure these were still called 'British Restaurants' but it's possible that childhood memories are playing tricks. The food was very basic but very cheap. Googling finds nothing though. --Ef80 (talk) 22:42, 12 November 2020 (UTC)
External links modified
[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on British Restaurant. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}}
after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
- Added archive https://web.archive.org/20080608211311/http://www.worldwar2exraf.co.uk:80/Online%20Museum/Museum%20Docs/foodrationpage9.htm to http://www.worldwar2exraf.co.uk/Online%20Museum/Museum%20Docs/foodrationpage9.htm
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.
