This is a pretty well-written and informative article (I'd expected a stub here!); if it has a flaw, it's that it doesn't have a strong opening sentence to briefly explain what Broughty Ferry is and its current status (arguably the most important information)- in fact, that information doesn't become clear until the end. --Fourohfour 21:12, 25 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

sorted. the article still needs a npov edit in places and some more info, plus a map would be nice too --MilkMiruku 22:57, August 25, 2005 (UTC)

A correction: Tayport was NOT the site of the vehicle ferries across the day prior to the Tay Road Bridge (though there had been a passenger ferry) - the ferries, known by all as "Fifies" crossed further up-river, between Dundee and Newport-on-Tay. Indeed, one of these ferries managed to collide with the temporary bridge erected while the Tay Road Bridge proper was under construction. The Tayport to Broughty Ferry service had been a casualty of the Tay RAIL Bridge in 1878. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 62.6.139.11 (talk • contribs) .

Hi; can you add the appropriate information to the main article please? I have commented out the disputed sentence. Fourohfour 00:20, 15 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Prior to the Tay bridges there was a ferry between Broughty Ferry and Ferryport on Craig seperate from the Fifies, although this goes back to medieval times, I probably should have mentioned this in the article.Benson85 20:36, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The above 'correction' is wrong! There was a ferry link between Tayport and Broughty Ferry... The station was located by Broughty Ferry Castle and served by North British Railway boat-trains operating from Tayport and crossing on train ferries. This ferry was replaced by the Tay Bridge and associated lines. After collapse of the bridge the pier was brought back into service until the replacement bridge was opened.

PAH. The final section sounds like someones trying to advertise it. Nothing special guys... trust me, I live in Broughty Ferry...
