Contested deletion

[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because Brunettes Shoot Blondes currently seem to be one of the most googled Ukrainian artists around the world. Their music videos have been reviewed by Billboard, Yahoo, Daily Mirror, The Daily Mail, Rolling Stone etc. They have about 20K subscribers on YouTube, 7K followers on Facebook. Their music video for the song Knock Knock went viral, receiving more than 6 million YouTube views.

@Robertino9: I can easily see from a news search that this band looks to be nationally famous in the Ukraine, and therefore it probably does meet our notability guidelines for musicians, so I have declined the speedy deletion tag. However, I'll need an Ukrainian speaker to help reference the sources into the article.
And they've now got more than 6 million and 2 YouTube viewers as me and my other half have just seen it and like it! Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 16:54, 11 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Gparyani: I appreciate the majority of the time if you see a band at NPP that you don't recognise and it has zero citations to reliable sources, it probably does meet the speedy deletion criteria for non-importance. However, in this case, you can have telltale signs like "6 million YouTube hits" which gives you enough to do a Google News search to find some sources. It's always worth doing a quick news and book search first over a web search, it takes a few seconds once you're used to NPP and it can stop ogres like me turning up and saying "oy!"
