How many were built?

[edit]

We have:

Could they be the same boat, renamed? - Ahunt (talk) 23:37, 26 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure yet, but I'm working on it. A couple hours ago I sent an email to Bill and Alicia Blodgett, who circumnavigated with Pegaso from April, 1992 to May, 1997, to ask them exactly that, if they know. I'll let you know what I find out. I've also emailed Mark Bruckmann, of Bruckmann Yachts to see what he can tell me. Mark is the son of Erich Bruckmann, who, along with George Cuthbertson and George Cassian, was one of the founding partners of C&C Yachts. From the early 1960's through to the late eighties, the C&C Custom Yachts Division was run by Erich Bruckmann, with his son Mark close at hand. During that time, C&C Custom Yachts built some 200 custom and semi-custom boats, including the C&C Custom 62.Ken Heaton (talk) 00:29, 27 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, well post when you have some info. It is too bad that we can't cite any of the results, although we can at least update the article. - Ahunt (talk) 00:51, 27 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Old question but no, they are not the same. The original 'Marauder' is an aft cockpit deck design and 'Pegaso' is a center cockpit. You have a reference to the sale catalog of 'Marauder' in the listing, that is not 'Pegaso'. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TomKnorr (talkcontribs) 17:26, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Marauder/Lilia

[edit]

Based on the "Lilia" USCG vessel information link posted LILIA (ON 1041466, call sign WDA2928). FCC License search of the "WDA2928" call sign returns an expired (11/22/2010) license registered to Joel Chinman. A further search for Joel Chinman and Marauder returns a JG-Alden-designed 1981 build ketch named "Marauder" with the listed ON 1041466 and the listed call sign but measurements of LOA 62' and beam 12'2", draft 10.5'. The hull number is JGE620000381, which is not a C&C format. Further evidence is that there is no mention of "Jubilation" in the C&C build lists. There were two 61' boat names: "Brita" and "Sirocco" on the list before the "Pegaso" (build 10) for which there is no evidence that these boats ever completed/were built according to John Kelly Cuthbertson, who is working through the records of his dad's company. "Pegaso" has build #10 in her C&C-compliant HIN and is the 10th entry in the list. Btw. the 62'-LOA was achieved by raising the freeboard on the 61' hull mold. Pegaso has a beam of 15'2.5". "Marauder" has a 12' beam which would be unlikely out of the same hull mold raising the freeboard. The Marauder video link claims this is a C&C, but there seems to be more to the story.
