notability

[edit]

Thank you for your input GB fan. One of the leading photography magazines is Canon's Eos Magazine. Christie's concert photography was the subject of the cover story in the July 2008 issue. It was an 8 page article, the cover image was hers. The article is not online. I do have scans of the cover and the article. Does this help? Patrick Patrickcusse (talk) 11:01, 15 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This does help. I am not sure that this one article by itself is enough to establish notability. I am not sure how to add a non-online reference to the article, I will try to figure out how to add it as a reference. What is the title of the article? ~~ GB fan ~~ talk 13:38, 15 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article was titled "Rock Chick". In every issue of Eos Magazine there is a feature called "Professional Showcase". The cover article about Christie was the professional showcase of the July 2008 issue. There was also a cover article in Focus (of the Kent Messenger Group) in March 2008 titled "Pictures That Rock", subtitle "Meet Kent's Top Rock Band Photographer"

Thank you for your help. If there's anything else I can do to establish the notability, please let me know. Patrickcusse (talk) 13:51, 15 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I also found these external links stating Christie's album credits: http://www.artistdirect.com/nad/store/artist/album/0,,4383384,00.html http://www.artistdirect.com/nad/store/artist/album/0,,4763926,00.html http://www.artistdirect.com/nad/store/artist/album/0,,4692212,00.html http://www.artistdirect.com/nad/store/artist/album/0,,4889590,00.html Patrickcusse (talk) 15:12, 15 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Here is the way to cite the magazines
  • Need author (July 2008). "Rock Chick". Eos Magazine, p. need page numbers.
  • Need author (March 2008). "Pictures That Rock". Focus, p. need page numbers.
I have added the pieces of information that I know, both still need the author of the article and the page numbers from the article. ~~ GB fan ~~ talk 20:00, 15 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for that. I will look up the author and page numbers and ad it to the article. Patrickcusse (talk) 09:50, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi GBFan, addedauthor and page numbers as instructed. Is there anything else we need to do to remove the deletion warnings? Patrickcusse (talk) 10:02, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I beieve with these two indepth articles notability is established. What happens now, the deletion discussion, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Christie Goodwin, will either continue for a total of 7 days and then an admin will come along to close the discussion based on consensus or the original nominator can agree that notability is established and withdraw the nomination. You can also weigh in on the deletion discussion but your voice might carry alot of weight since you have a conflict of interest. Watch this page and see how it goes. ~~ GB fan ~~ talk 13:57, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your kind assistance, GBFan. I see that now only the conflict of interest objection remains. Since that was posted, I have made a lot of changes, making the article strictly neutral and factual. Not sure what else I can do. Patrickcusse (talk) 08:57, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That one is going to be a little harder. While we assume that you are neutral and factual in the way you wrote the article, the answer is trust but verify. Until someone without a conflict of interest has a chance to review the articles that you gave us and verify that the informarion presented in this article is supported, the conflict of interest tag should remain. It is not a major problem, it allows others who read the article to know that the information has not been checked for neutrality. I am not sure how to get a hold of those magazines at this point to review them. IF I can find copies I will review them. ~~ GB fan ~~ talk 13:15, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Eos Magazine article is the really serious one, because it is a well respected magazine. Although the article is a bit dated now of course, being from 2008. I do have a pdf of that aricle and would be happy to email it. Patrickcusse (talk) 14:06, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You can email it to me by clicking on this link ~~ GB fan ~~ talk 15:10, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
