[edit]I don't know where I got the impression, but I thought call ducks were of all sizes and colors, and were called "call" ducks because they were used (like decoys, which have been used for 1,000 years, long before Columbus, in North America) to lure wild ducks to hunters. I remember collecting pictures of them from the Internet, and believe they're particularly bred and loved in England. Aren't any Wikipedians interested? Let's broaden this article if I'm right.
