This information is extremely incorrect. Sacagawea was not sold to white people. She was traded by various Indian tribes, and I don't think Crows were one of them. Eventually, Toussaint Charbonneau won her in a game of something like dice and took her as a wife. He lived among the Hidatsas or the Mandans (who lived near each other) when the Corp of Discovery wintered among the Mandans. You also say under Charbonneau's page that both of his wives were Shoshone. This is also not true. Only Sacagawea was Shoshone thus why she was taken on the expedition.

I also do not think that Cameahwait gave horses to the Corp. I believe they traded for them. But he was Sacagawea's brother. She chose to continue with the Corp rather than stay with her family. (Big mistake on her part, I think.) Rainbowchk 20:10, 23 July 2007 (UTC)Dana Collins[reply]

Does anyone think there should be a pronunciation of his name here? Because I have NO idea how to say it.

Factual errors

[edit]

As noted in another comment here, the information about Otter Woman is incorrect, as is the horses being given as gifts. 47.20.150.228 (talk) 20:51, 6 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
