Discography

[edit]

I think we need to tidy up the discography as it is getting messed up. In the "Collaborations with other artists" section, I think we should include only the discs which Carey is credited as the album artist, and not the discs which he is merely credited as a session player.

With this criteria, Harp Attack! and Superharps II would qualify, but others would not. I propose them to be removed. If we keep adding every disc that Carey is credited on, this list is would become too long and would not be very useful. The list would be at least this long and would be too much for the article. Would like to hear comments on this. Thanks.--Sumori (talk) 18:37, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings Sumori. I'm all for tidying articles up but I don't agree that his other recordings should be excluded. If the list is too long, or potentially so, we just split it off to a separate Discography as has been done for many other artists/bands, such as the following example:

I'm with you on this. My intention for this proposal was to just tidy it up, to make the list more useful and easier to understand, but it didn't seem it was going in that direction. If you see my direct message to FAURA, I'm making the same proposal that you are making.
I think in this bio article, we shouldn't make discography too complicated, and if we are to mention those disc he participated on, we should make a separate article. I hope everyone agrees on this. Thanks. --Sumori (talk) 05:54, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sumori,Hi Technopat, The long list at allmusic is not complete,i miss most of the recordings that Bell did in Europe. This does not show the 'career 'of the artist .IMO a discography should be as complete as possible (like E. Clapton, the Rolling Stones etc.).I agree with you if you seperate it.Thanks--FAURA (talk) 08:38, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings Sumori and FAURA, glad to see we have consensus! I don't have time right now to contribute here but I'll pop in occasionally and try to give a hand. Regards, --Technopat (talk) 13:02, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
