- Add the following: "In 1958, a radio system was installed, enabling direct communication between firefighters and the Carmel Police Department, along with the inclusion of "buzzer boxes" for internal communication within the department. Subsequent additions include a new ambulance and, in 1963, a 300 horsepower LaFrance engine. Another addition, a Crown Coach with aerial platform (or snorkel), arrived in 1975."[1] (Note: this source has already been referenced in the article.
