Meaning of malpais

[edit]

Mal país means "bad country" in Spanish Randroide (talk) 22:00, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Or "bad land". Think: badlands. --71.198.34.87 (talk) 18:28, 3 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal

[edit]

I propose to merge Carrizozo Malpais into Carrizozo volcanic field. The Carrizozo Malpais is the main feature of the Carrizozo volcanic field, so that two articles are bound to heavily duplicate content, particularly as both are short articles. Kent G. @Ancheta Wis, TheUrbanProspector, Marjaliisa, Originalwana, and Ceranthor: Would like your thoughts on merging Carrizozo Malpais into Carrizozo volcanic field. --Kent G. Budge (talk) 19:54, 19 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • OK to merge, however the article should mention that this area is known locally as "the Malpais" or "the Malpais lava field". I have never heard it referred to as Carrizozo volcanic field, although that is the correct name. Netherzone (talk) 14:51, 17 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
