Notability tag

[edit]

I've removed the notability tag. There has been no attempt to discuss this and it is notable per WP:NEVENT eg per WP:LASTING it marked the end of the ceasefire and return to terrorotism by the IRA, which lasted nearly 30 years. WCMemail 11:29, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Added back per my comment I would not edit war. However, I wish to note I believe it should be removed. WCMemail 14:17, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Which references say it marked the end of the ceasefire? Do you mean the completely unreferenced sentence in the article? FDW777 (talk) 14:26, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
[1] I believe you have a copy. WCMemail 14:33, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I've read the page you linked to, and can't see any text supporting your claim. Perhaps a direct quote might help? FDW777 (talk) 14:37, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Try the previous page. Do you have a copy? WCMemail 14:46, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
So no quote? Fails WP:V then. FDW777 (talk) 14:47, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nice try, no cigar.

That does not support your claim of it marked the end of the ceasefire and return to terrorotism by the IRA. As would be clear to everyone had you not selectively quoted the text. Try reading some books on the subject, you will find the ceasefire was broken repeatedly throughout 1975, long before August. FDW777 (talk) 14:58, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It very much does, again I asked if you had a copy. In any case, anyone following the link provided can verify that I'm not removing anything of significance/ WCMemail 15:06, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
