[edit]Thomas Ashe died in 1917. There is a different Thomas Ashe on the springfield school committee.
Removed uncited controversy
[edit]I have removed the following from the article since it is uncited and potentially controversial. Please do not restore this information unless you have a citation to support it:
Ryan's administration has been somewhat controversial as it began months before the city was put under the State Finance Control Board. This was a much criticized decision, and though the board itself remains controversial, many now agree that Ryan's hands were tied by circumstance.
