Protecting gun-owner rights sounds like a campaign ad

[edit]

The title of that section should be neutral and not come off like a campaign ad. Does his staff edit this page or something? 2603:8081:8700:687D:346A:8CF0:5874:C503 (talk) 16:30, 7 February 2023 (UTC) Gun rights were not in question, so he didn't protect anything. What he did was make is so anyone (who is not a criminal) can carry a deadly weapon out in the open, he also made it so companies are forced to support gun sales/manufacturers. Those are not "protecting gun owner rights" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2603:8081:8700:687D:346A:8CF0:5874:C503 (talk) 16:43, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Drunken Driving Arrest

[edit]

He has not yet been convicted but it seems he has a drinking and driving issue. https://www.texastribune.org/2023/02/07/charles-schwertner-arrested-texas-senate/ https://www.kxan.com/news/local/austin/austin-police-arrest-texas-senator-on-dwi-charge-records-show/ dallasnews.com/news/politics/2023/02/07/texas-state-sen-charles-schwertner-arrested-and-charged-with-drunk-driving/ https://www.fox7austin.com/news/texas-state-senator-dwi-charles-schwertner-arrested 2603:8081:8700:687D:346A:8CF0:5874:C503 (talk) 16:36, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

His advocacy for Uber should probably be included: "In 2016, after Austin voters approved stricter requirements for drivers that prompted Uber and Lyft to leave town, Schwertner spearheaded Senate legislation designed to create statewide regulations that would allow the companies to return to the city. The bill aimed to ensure the companies had the same rules in every city in Texas. When he argued for the bill in the Legislature, he said ride-hailing companies provided transportation to people who otherwise “are getting in vehicles and driving drunk.” https://www.texastribune.org/2023/02/07/charles-schwertner-arrested-texas-senate/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2603:8081:8700:687D:346A:8CF0:5874:C503 (talk) 18:26, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
