Be advised that the airport database to which this (and presumably other) pages about Alaska Airports ( http://www.alaska.faa.gov/fai/airports.htm ) links has NOT been maintained for some six years now.

In particular, for Chevak, the airport with land runway 14/32 was closed some years back. It shows in the GoogleEarth photos with "X"s to indicate closure. The unmaintained database http://www.alaska.faa.gov/fai/airports.htm, however, lists only the old airport.

It is particularly confusing because the "FAA sourced" data to the right of the Wikipedia entry shows the GRAPHICS for the OLD airport (land runway 14/32), but the TEXT for the NEW airport (land runway 2/20). It also lists text for a water runway, but offers no graphics for it.

Unfortunately, there appears not to be any online replacement for http://www.alaska.faa.gov/fai/airports.htm.

The Alaska Supplement for this airport correctly shows both NEW and OLD (the latter marked "Closed Runway").

I recommend that Wikipedia not link to the unmaintained database http://www.alaska.faa.gov/fai/airports.htm, or at least caution readers that it is linking to an unmaintained database which may contain obsolete/inconsistent information. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.165.148.193 (talk) 23:37, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As stated above, the Chevak airport has been moved to the other side of the village, I have made a comment on the article. The two airlines that fly into Chevak is "Era" and "Hagland" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.82.9.61 (talk) 20:38, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
