Promotional article

[edit]

Prior to today's edit, this was a blatantly promotional article violating several Wikipedia policies, as noted and bluelinked in my edit summary. The tone and language were blurby and conversational, with references to the likes of "Chris can be seen performing at...."

Please read The Five Pillars of Wikipedia and the policies bluelinked in the edit summary before editing this article. Anyone can edit Wikipedia, but everyone has the responsibility to follow Wikipedia policies and guidelines. Please also note the policy at WP:COI. -- Tenebrae (talk) 14:46, 27 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The fan, the subject, or a representative of same, restored the old version with all the policy vios. I've reverted, and will contact the editor. -- Tenebrae (talk) 21:45, 27 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Many of the WP:SPA's footnotes are to offline newspaper articles dating to the 1980s. I question who, other than the performer himself or his agent/manager or family, would have a collection of such articles. While I and several editors have exhibited good faith so far, this stretches credulity to the point of apparent conflict of interest. These edits do not appear to be the work of a disinterested party, but of someone with a promotional agenda. -- Tenebrae (talk) 20:53, 22 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
