Same as Neurospora sitophila?[edit]

Hello Marvoir. iNaturalist suggests that Chrysonilia sitophila and Neurospora sitophila are the same. Perhaps we should rename this article to Neurospora sitophila, since we have an article and a taxonomy template for Neurospora? –Novem Linguae (talk) 08:26, 16 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Our article says : "Chrysonilia sitophila is the anamorphic counterpart of Neurospora sitophila (teleomorph)" Is it really necessary to rename this article ? "Chrysonilia sitophila" had a greater historical role than the teleomorphic form "Neurospora sitophila". By the way, iNaturalist is identical to the French Wikipedia article from which I translated our article. Marvoir (talk) 09:35, 16 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Seems to me that iNaturalist 1) thinks they are the same, and 2) has deprecated Chrysonilia sitophila. Screenshot with Chrysonilia sitophila crossed out. I'm not an expert though, could be misreading something, but that is what I am seeing, so figured I'd start a discussion. –Novem Linguae (talk) 15:13, 16 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Novem Linguae: you are correct, I have entered a move request. @Marvoir: articles for taxons on English Wikipedia should use the senior synonym as the page title. YorkshireExpat (talk) 17:39, 16 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Chrysonilia sitophilaNeurospora sitophila – According to this, Chrysonilia sitophila is a junior synonym of Neurospora sitophila, and article names for taxons should use the senior synonym.
