Thoughts[edit]

Wouldn't this be better as Church treasury? The examples are very biased towards Germany. Johnbod (talk) 13:54, 21 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I think "church treasure" is the broader topic as not all of them are held in a church treasury - in fact, a lot aren't as the article indicates. So "church treasure" can readily incorporate "church treasury", but not the other way around. However, I've redirected it anyway for now.
The examples are weighted towards Germany because I've just translated this from German Wikipedia and that's what they had. Please go ahead and add other examples if you know of them. --Bermicourt (talk) 14:36, 21 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. I've added a couple more examples from other countries in Europe. --Bermicourt (talk) 18:00, 21 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
But "Church treasure" just isn't a phrase in English! Nor (if it was) would it be the subject of this article, which does not cover the general topic of what treasures were made for churches (sometimes called "ars sacra"), and does not cover the most important collections, which are in museums. I was perhaps being too politely English - let me be clearer: "this title is wrong and needs to be changed". Johnbod (talk) 19:08, 21 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Well expand the article then. I'm a translator, not a church art historian. Don't forget to take account of Schatzkammer (= "treasury") though. --Bermicourt (talk) 19:17, 21 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
No thanks, or not much, it just needs renaming, and rebalancing. Johnbod (talk) 21:12, 21 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
