Notable Alumni

[edit]

To the IP editor that re-instated Ed Buckner: Firstly, it is never appropriate to assume what another editor's motive in editing may be. See WP:AGF. Secondly, what you may know or what may be on some wall at the school somewhere both would fall under the catagory of WP:OR. We do not publish material based on OR. Thirdly, I will quote you the appropriate section of the school article guidelines from WP:SCH/AG#Alumni. "All alumni information must be referenced. See Wikipedia:Footnoting for technical help. Individual alumni need a citation to a) verify that they did indeed attend the school, and b) verify the statement of their notability in their short one or two line description. When alumni have their own articles in mainspace, it is not necessary for their notability to be referenced, as long as it is done in the biographical articles. Be sure to check the existing biography article to ensure that it demonstrates alumni status with a cited reference." Clear enough? Until someone adds a WP:RS reference showing he attended this school to either his bio or to the entry at this school's Notable Alumni list, his name will continue to be reverted. Please make sure you understand WP:RS. Thank you. John from Idegon (talk) 02:44, 17 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
