Early life
[edit]In this edit, details about Parisi's early life were removed with the edit summary "unsourced and outdated ableist terminology". Is the problem that the material was sourced only to the Daily Record? I don't see how his birthplace, or details of his parents and sister, can be regarded as "outdated". Similarly, I don't see how the fact he "grew up in Hornsey" or that he had dyslexia, is controversial. Thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 20:26, 4 December 2019 (UTC)
- @Martinevans123: I removed the section mainly because it's unsourced, but feel free to rewrite the section with reliable sources. And as for the outdated language, labelling someone "slow" is... not Wikipedia material, let's start there. – DarkGlow (talk) 20:47, 4 December 2019 (UTC)
- Is it not all sourced in that Daily Record article? Your point is that the newspaper is a tabloid? I agree about the "slow" label, except I suspect that's exactly how Parsisi was labelled at the time. Martinevans123 (talk) 20:50, 4 December 2019 (UTC)
- p.s.is the Evening Standard any better: [1]? Martinevans123 (talk) 20:55, 4 December 2019 (UTC)
- @Martinevans123: Yeah, I'd consider the ES a reliable source. – DarkGlow (talk) 21:05, 4 December 2019 (UTC)

Date of birth
[edit]Does this source give his date of birth? It seems to say only that he was aged 59 on 3 December 2019. Martinevans123 (talk) 23:06, 7 December 2019 (UTC)
- @Martinevans123: The source gives his birth year, which is what I originally added, as I can't find any reliable sources that verify his exact birthday. An IP keeps adding the unconfirmed date. – DarkGlow (talk) 23:19, 7 December 2019 (UTC)
- @Martinevans123: Update: I have now found and added a reliable source for Parisi's birthday. It really wasn't that hard to do, so next time, do it yourself rather than slap a CN tag on and call it a day. – DarkGlow (talk) 23:27, 7 December 2019 (UTC)
- I searched for quite a while. Seems you had more success. Repeated IP edits can confuse matters. Thanks for the scolding. I'm afraid I'm "calling it a day" more and more these days. Martinevans123 (talk) 09:47, 8 December 2019 (UTC)
- Update I see that the capital.fm source was published on 20 November 2019. I wonder where they got their information? Martinevans123 (talk) 10:02, 8 December 2019 (UTC)
- @Martinevans123: I also found this source that verifies his birthday. It was relatively easy to find. – DarkGlow (talk) 11:19, 8 December 2019 (UTC)
- Congratulations on your "relatively easy find." Published the day before, I see. I'd be tempted to use The Standard in preference to the CapitalFM. But again, I'm left wondering. I was looking for a source that predated the appearance of the birthday here. Martinevans123 (talk) 11:26, 8 December 2019 (UTC)
