1938 alterations[edit]

This section does not adequately describe the extent of the diminution of the house in 1938. Pevsner (Buildings of England: Wiltshire) says the house was deplorably ill-treated, and the Lost Heritage site describes it as one of England's lost houses in view of the extent of the reduction. Looking at photos of the house in the early 20th century it is difficult to disagree. I am posting photos from In Englands Homes to Commons, and will try to get some more documentation of what was done in 1938. Kognos (talk) 20:21, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
