Japanese showtimes
Could someone express the Japanese showtimes using the 12-hour clock, or, at least, the normal 24-hour clock, instead of the Japanese version with the 25:xx and 26:xx? -- azumanga (talk) 00:12, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
Themes
According to the columnist Carlo Santos of Anime News Network, the franchise "in a way, [...] reflects the malaise of a generation: the realization that old, rich, powerful people have screwed up the world and that the young are helpless to do anything about it". Lelouch's actions exemplify the wish to see problems like "economic collapse, class conflict, political instability, radical extremism" solved by "Zero's vigilante methods" but Santos expresses doubt in this and concludes that "the series is at its best when raising questions rather than offering a final solution".[1]
How about adding a Themes section to the article? First interpretations are already starting to emerge on the net, such as Carlo Santos of ANN discussing the rebellion motif in his latest Geass manga review. --Koveras ☭ 19:39, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

Code Geass reviews from IGN.Com
can you guys include IGN.Com's reviews on the Code Geass series in the reception part or the themes part? Though they are still watching Code Geass R2, can you at least just look at them and see if you can include them? And oh yeah, they also cited some certain things regarding some of the main characters of the show. You might also include it there but in the own character page.

Should the Settings and themes of Code Geass come back?
Will it be possible to put this article back? -SilentmanX (talk) 19:54, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
- I doubt it. After the AfD, there's been no real reason to bring it back. I don't think any other series has such a page anyway. Although it would be great to have it back, since it's got so much info, but when it come back, it'd probably just get AfD'd again. -- Highwind888, the Fuko Master 07:19, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

Turmoil
Should we make mention of the turmoil the series underwent during production of R2?Zero no Kamen (talk) 14:14, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- Huh? there was some turmoil? What happened? -- Highwind888, the Fuko Master 07:17, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
- Basically, Taniguchi had to completely alter his original plans for R2 due to interference from the Network as well as a limiting factor of the Prime Time slot which meant that the story couldn't be as intense as it could've been if it were on late night. Also, marketing pressure lead to the inclusion of several high class Knightmare frames in order to boost toy sales (see Gundam). Basically the series was a trainwreck from day one due to interference from higher-ups. Zero no Kamen (talk) 23:22, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- Really? Hmph. I think you should put it into the production section, with sources of course. -- Highwind888, the Fuko Master 04:36, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
- I've removed that due to improper sourcing and original research. Please cite reliable sources, not blogs or fan sites, which can be used to back up the relevant statements. Opinions and assumptions, no matter how popular, aren't enough support (nor are they necessarily "correct", but that's off-topic).

- For example, find actual magazines that can be properly referenced, limiting the description to what has been included in their text, not what other people want to deduce (ie: the whole claim about new KMFs being added for alleged marketing reasons is speculation, even if it could be true). Even the interview with Taniguchi doesn't actually say over half the things you've mentioned. Juancarlos2004 (talk) 19:51, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

What the hell is Geass?
The article talks about how you get Geass, how it's identified and how it's limited. BUT NOT IN A SINGLE WORD IS IT MENTIONED WHAT IT ACTUALLY DOES. Pretty essential, as it's right on the title. -ijusten —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.193.95.94 (talk) 08:56, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
- Therein is the problem. It doesn't do the same thing twice. It is a special power that is attuned to the personality of the individual that is given it. But it can be literally anything from mind reading, absolute authority, memory rewriting, active control etc. But an individual only has that one power, not any of the others, they're unique to one person, though some may be similar. The reason why there is no mention of what geass does is that it doesn't really do anything fixed to begin with81.111.115.63 (talk) 15:48, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
Geass is basically the power to control people or manipulating the person to get what he wants. there are different versions of geass.
C.C=make people fall in love with her so she can get what she wants
Mao=read memories so he can manipulate the person
nunally=allowing to know when someone is lying to make sure they do what they say.
Rolo=time freeze, basically numbing the nerves of someone so he can get away or kill them
Charles=rewrite memories
and Lelouch=simply telling the person to follow an order.
of course all these have some condition that limits them to get exactly what they want.QueenofHearts 16:31, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

Genre
I'm not sure what goes into genre classification, but, considering the considerable emphasis placed on strategy (and, to a lesser degree, tactics) in Code Geass, and the constant attempt to maneuver the enemy into a corner (especially, in Lelouch's case, with mind games), couldn't it be considered a Psychological Thriller, in addition to the currently listed genres? Neko Tenshi (talk) 15:51, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
- Not without a reliable source. Otherwise, it's original research and unverifiable. --Farix (Talk) 20:26, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
- That's just what I was wondering - where do you find a reliable source to state the genre of a work? There are no sources posted as to its inclusion in the genres of Drama, Mecha, or Alternate History. They all seem obvious, sure - but to me, so does Psychological Thriller. I'm not trying to argue here, I'm just wondering, since, as I said, the current inclusions have no referenced sources - where do you find such a source? Neko Tenshi (talk) 06:06, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- Mecha and alternate history are obvious just using the content of the series and wouldn't be disputed. These are very much like saying that a car is a type of automobile. No one is going to dispute it, so they don't need to be sourced. Drama is more of a placeholder when there isn't a more specific genre, so it could be removed. However, psychological thriller requires one to interpret the plot. Since this interpretation can be disputed, it must be sourced. --Farix (Talk) 11:32, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

Code Geass and code geass R2 on the same page?
Code Geass and Code Geass R2 are 2 seperate seasons. I think they should have their own paragraphs. And what's with the big spoiler in the plot section? Summguy1 (Talk) 15:24, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
- What spoiler? Bear in mind that the sections change over time, so you should quote anything which you are criticizing. Also I personally like spoilers. And the rules here allow spoilers and even specify that there should be no warning of spoilers since users should assume that spoilers will be present (after all this is an encyclopedia, not an advertisement). JRSpriggs (talk) 01:09, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
- it was in the plot, mentioning the end of series 2, but it's gone now. I'm not sure why you like spoiling the end of the series, giving away the ending, but seeing as there's no rule against it, not much can be done i guess. Still, thank you for removing it. Summguy1 (Talk) 15:55, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
- I certainly would not take "credit" for removing any plot information, since I do not intentionally remove any accurate information about a plot. With respect to plot at least, I am an inclusionist, not a deletionist. If you do not want the suspense of a story spoiled for you, then do not read the Wikipedia article on it, or at least not the section on plot. I like to know in advance what is going to happen so that I can see how all the events and the character development fit into the story as a whole. I figure that if a story is any good, it is worth seeing multiple times. If knowing the ending makes it uninteresting, then I would rather not see it even once. Thus I like to read the Wikipedia article on a book or TV series before or shortly after I start reading or watching it. JRSpriggs (talk) 09:22, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
Manga section unclarity
Concerning the last phrase of the Code Geass#Manga "Three of these manga series have been licensed for an English language release in North America by Bandai Entertainment.[27]"
I think this phrase contains incomplete information. I'd suggest changing it to: In December 2007, Bandai Entertainment licensed Lelouch of the Rebellion, Suzaku of the Counterattack and Knightmare of Nunnaly for an English language release in North America.
As for adding the reference, I'm new to editing on Wikipedia, so I could use a little help here to restore the original reference #27 to this phrase. Thanks.

Short character list inclusion
I'm not quite sure about Wikipedia policy on this issue, but in my experience a short character list in the main article (with a link to a longer character list, usually a separate article) is generally acceptable to include. This also makes sense, as casual readers of the main article would probably appreciate a short overview of the main characters. If they desire a more in depth look, they can then look at the separate article on the characters for that. This section is in response to a recent edit by DragonZero, who removed the short character list in the main article on the grounds that there is already a full character list available in a separate article. -BloodDoll (talk) 22:38, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
- Usually the plot summarizes all main characters to reduce sections containing only in-universe information. I was following the example one of the three featured lists for anime/manga, Tokyo Mew Mew. DragonZero (talk · contribs) 10:20, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

Spoilerific Plot
Shouldn't the plot section contain more details/spoilers? As an encyclopedia, I expect to be able to come to this page and after reading the plot section, to know the general story of Code Geass, including the ending and any major plot twists. Rather, the current section reads much like the back of a DVD case, with a description of the setting, slight description of the beginning plot, and an ending generic teaser.99.187.239.183 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 08:09, 1 March 2010 (UTC).
No. If you post details and spoilers you might ruin the anime for some people who heard about it from friends and just came to wiki to get a little more informed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.82.38.166 (talk) 04:45, 10 March 2010 (UTC)
You are welcome to add any spoilers as long as it describes the plot in overall, it is an encyclopedia after all. --Refuteku (talk) 20:38, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
Should it happen then please clearly mark the part as spoiler. I agree with 2nd comment that spoilers can ruin the enjoyment and I feel 'not knowing' is very important in case of Code Geass, not feeling entitled to object against the adding itself though. --NoxArt 22:17, 13 Dec 2010 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by NoxArt (talk • contribs)

Shikkoku no Renya confusion..?
(Code Geass Shikkoku no Renya is to me the pre-queal to the Lelouch saga.It takes place several years later before R1, Towards the invasion of Japan. The plot will be simple guy comes for girl, guy A will try and save the girl, trouble and secrets reveal and unfold, backstories are developed, guy A and guy B come together to help out girl. We will see a character that has many physical similarities as Lelouch, but is the Britanian emperor. The main character [with geass gone wrong to his left arm represents to me a cross between Kallen and Suzaku, for their will to help out people and excellent fighting skills] has an enemy that to me resembles Gino Weinberg, for 1 the last name, and 2 the physical similarities. We get to see C.C. as a main character again, but more like a melovelant, dark character who knows to much, but dosen't tell. The knightmares will take a seat back in much in mechanics and robotics, and will loke more ike golems, and somewhat human.) I realized, that people keep saying that this takes place in the past, but has anyone realized, that the man who looks like lelouch has the Black Knights symbol on his cloak? — Preceding unsigned comment added by ShikkokuRenya3700 (talk • contribs) 15:22, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
Ending
There is currently an ongoing discussion in User talk:Valkyrie J.J.#Re: Code Geass and my own talk page regarding addition of material to Code Geass#Plot. To make it as objective as possible, Valyries states that the series' ending is up to viewers' idea, while I find such observations as original research. Nevertheless, discussion is still ongoing, so a more opinion are required to reach a consensus. Note: Users already had the same discussion at Talk:Lelouch Lamperouge#Death of Lelouch Status some time ago and the consensus established was to avoid this inclusion to the articles. I call for the merging of Code Geass: Nightmare of Nunnally into the main article for Code Geass. It is a spin off series of Code Geass that does not have substanial notability outside of the Code Geass franchise. Furthermore, other spin-offs of Code Geass do not have their own articles (such as Suzaku of the Counterattack and the video game), therefore, Nightmare of Nunnally should not have preferential standing to have its own article.
In addition, the organization of the existing article is very poor, consisting of a poorly written and overly extensive but inconsistent plot summary and character entries that are already present on the current collective character page for Code Geass characters.
