"False statement" corrections by 2001:1970:5040:7F00:0:0:0:BB34
[edit]@2001:1970:5040:7F00:0:0:0:BB34: Hi, I'm guessing this wasn't your intention but your recent edit removed a source but left the claim intact. Other removals appear to be sourced content, with no explanation for why you removed them past a claim that they're false. Can you explain what you object to in the article? It's better to discuss it here and reach consensus for revision, rather than leaving messages for others in the body of the article.
Please discontinue your edits until there's been some discussion. Thanks. Skeletor3000 (talk) 18:25, 24 November 2019 (UTC)
Frankie Greco
[edit]Hi everyone. Can anybody out there provide a source citing Frankie Greco as a co-founder of the festival? I see he claims to be a founder on his Twitter, but I can find no other mention of him anywhere.
Thanks. Skeletor3000 (talk) 16:07, 26 November 2019 (UTC)
I've gone ahead and removed the statement about the founders of the festival, to prevent this building into an edit war. I'd like to have a discussion about this dispute, including ideas for where to find sources.
Skeletor3000 (talk) 20:27, 26 November 2019 (UTC)
Update It seems that the editor who insists on including Greco, or not including any information at all about founders, also objects to the cited content mentioning Guillemette. These objections are unexplained, except for vague claims of "farce journalism" or fact suppression. I've made numerous attempts at starting a dialogue, but it seems they're unwilling to join. The edits are coming from multiple IPs, but they seem to be the same person, judging by the wording and inflammatory nature of the edit summaries.
As before, I hope anyone with alternate sources or even insight into this issue can discuss here. Skeletor3000 (talk) 17:23, 28 November 2019 (UTC)
Disputed content per removal claiming "incorrect facts and poor research" without giving any explanation or correction of the facts.
- The winner of the first festival in 1991 was Ray Guillemette Jr. Guillemette has since performed at every Collingwood Elvis Festival except in 2001, when he was hit by a drunk driver and lost his leg. He returned to the festival in 2002, and continued competing annually through use of a prosthetic limb.[1]
Anybody care to offer an explanation of why this is incorrect, or a source that offers different info? Skeletor3000 (talk) 18:24, 29 November 2019 (UTC)
Collingwood, Ontario and the Activités
[edit]This Wikipedia description is completely wrong. Collingwood does not have skiing or hiking within its borders. The Town of Blue Mountains located in the County of Grey has those active activities. Collingwood has only summer activities. It is named after the British Naval Officer Lord Collingwood. It was given to him by Lord Nelson another British Officer . It was famous for shipbuilding which the British excelled at. It was hoped to become the Chicago of the North as the numerous 100 year old buildings and homes attest too. Although many of the homes have had properties devised up by consents with more homes being built. Collingwood has a waterfront for boating and water sports. It has become overpriced where local people cannot live. Boushy1234 (talk) 17:22, 20 August 2022 (UTC)
Ps correction
[edit]It tried to correct the opening statement but was not allowed to Collingwood Ontario is a lower tier Municipality with its legal Ontario structure being under the County of Simcoe. Many mistake it as being the hub of the Georgian Bay « area ». . The area use to be known as the Georgian Triangle which was well named. The Triangle included The Town of Blue Mountains to the West, Wasaga Beach to the East and Clearview to the South . The land areas were interconnected with business , commerce and natural environment. This structure has fallen apart as Collingwood use to be the manufacturing hub. Town of Blue Mountains is in this County of Grey with the other Municipalities being in the County of Simcoe. Many folks don’t recognized these structural differences but they are enormous. Collingwood cannot claim fame to skiing, hiking and a natural waterfront or sand beach’s. It does not have those things. If you like rock windy waterfronts perfect for sailing and windsailing come for a summer vacation and experience a community with 100 year old buildings. Collingwood is in a state of flux with many new comers who have placed stress on infrastructure such as how often you can flush your toilet, no sidewalks (safer for walking and riding bike) , few street lights ( you can see stars), road infrastructure that can’t take so many people. The natural heritage and cultural home Town is being changed but the numerous humans coming to the small Town. All of this has created two or more « camps » . The locals who can’t afford to buy a home here or the new comer who finds the lack of services annoying and took for granted the hard infrastructure that came to expect from where they came from. A dynamic which is happening all over rural Ontario where it ends who knows. Boushy1234 (talk) 17:42, 20 August 2022 (UTC)
