Change title

[edit]

This is an odd title, as the southern colonies started with the Chesapeake Bay Colony, present-day Virginia, Maryland and Delaware. Maybe it should be renamed/moved to "Chesapeake Bay Colony and the Colonial South". Not sure how it is supposed to related to other articles on states/colonies, US colonial history.--Parkwells (talk) 20:56, 7 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with the above statement. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.57.146.192 (talk) 19:54, 16 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This article was definitely not written by a native speaker of English and needs rewording, at least.92.75.152.12 (talk) 20:24, 11 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. Just the first sentence makes it sound like there were 13 colonies in the south in addition to others to the north. JMtB03 (talk) 02:55, 18 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Recommend deletion

[edit]

Little positive has happened on this article in the last several years. The sources are of poor quality, the English is poor, and it is badly organized. I recommend deleting it, as material on the Chesapeake Bay area and southern colonies is better covered elsewhere.Parkwells (talk) 03:14, 18 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
